TRASH TALK ---------------------------

On the Road and against the Curb

Thought for the month. What ever happened to the memories of the old days. Two individuals approached me and stated "Wow, I didn't realize that African Americans Raced Bikes" Huh??? Come now, I am tired of hearing this now 9 year tradition of Lance Armstrong has been the American breakthrough in cycling. Respect due to him no doubt, but I fail not to remember the track exploits of Nelson Vails of the late 70's to the dawning 80's. But the most significant figure in my mind is America's 1st world champion (1899) in any sport category; Major Taylor. This dude was boss and virtualy kept Madison Square Garden intact until the corruption of organized crime marred the sport during the early 19th century. I draw my fire through this man's legacy (dispite my age) to strive for the podium. A Director Sportif on a big Philadelphia sponsored team gave me the impression that I'm passed the age. Just remember this for all of you whom were given negative feedback...Man gives opinions and criticism, God gives guidance and hope to those who have the faith amounting to that of a grain of sand. Yeah... Guidance is the life source. Mathuzala syndrome mon. Yahh!

Stay tuned.
